The Leadership Assembly is the most powerful governing body for Alianza Americas’ member organizations. Every year, the Assembly gathers in person or virtually to evaluate the previous programmatic work, review the organization’s finances, analyze the current political and social context in the US and throughout the region, elect the board of directors, and plan the programmatic work of the following year. The Leadership Assembly is an opportunity to build personal connections, collective growth, and a celebration among leaders and organizations working together for the well-being of immigrant communities in the United States, as informed by a transnational perspective.
The Leadership Assembly is the most significant event of our network, as it allows Alianza Americas’ membership to learn from each other's work. The exchange builds on the biweekly virtual meetings, where Alianza Americas’ members share and develop ideas and proposals for collective advocacy actions that protect immigrants’ rights at the local, national, and transnational level.
