Five myths why many TPS beneficiaries from El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua have failed to re-register

September 10, 2024 — Thousands of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries from El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua have not yet re-registered for the program. There are only a few months left for people to register to maintain their protection against deportation and keep their work permits up to date. 

There are 103 thousand people from El Salvador who still need to re-register. They have until March 9, 2025, to do so.

There are 46,000 people from Honduras and 1,900 from Nicaragua who still need to re-register. They have until July 5, 2025, to do so.
