Tips for people who have re-registered for TPS and applied for a new employment authorization card, but USCIS has not yet responded

September 10, 2024 — On June 20, 2024, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has extended the validity of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) issued to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries under the El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua designations until March 9, 2025.

Many TPS beneficiaries have already completed the steps to re-register for TPS and applied for a new EAD card, but their document has not yet arrived at their home address. Below is a fact sheet on what you should know and do about delays in the delivery of your employment authorization card. Share it with people in your community and help us spread the word.
