This webinar will highlight the critical need for resilient housing in Central America amid increasing natural disasters and climate change. It aims to explore the intersection of housing quality, disaster vulnerability, public health, and forced migration. Poor housing quality significantly impacts health outcomes, and natural disasters (like floods and hurricanes) exacerbate these pre-existing vulnerabilities. Thus the climate crisis deepens systemic inequities disproportionately impacting already vulnerable and at-risk populations. Panelists will discuss strategies for achieving resilient housing in this context, addressing both immediate and long-term solutions.
