On Thursday, July 9, 2026 – the eve of the day in which TPS holders will lose their work permits –, immigrant families, TPS holders, community organizations, faith leaders, labor allies, and advocates will hold rallies in cities across the country as part of a national day of action calling on Congress to protect TPS holders and keep immigrant families together.
The actions come after the Supreme Court’s conservative Justices allowed the Trump Administration to move forward with taking protections away from workers and families who followed the rules, passed background checks, and registered with the government. The decision puts 1.3 million TPS holders and their families at risk of losing the protections that allow them to live and work in the country they call home.
TPS holders have built their lives in the United States. They are raising families, working in hospitals, hotels, restaurants, farms, and businesses, and contributing billions of dollars to the economy every year. Advocates will call on Congress to vote YES on S. 4814 and pass permanent protections, including a path to citizenship, to keep families together, protect workers, and prevent the Trump Administration from destabilizing communities and local economies.
Who: TPS holders, immigrant families, community organizations, immigrant rights advocates, faith leaders, labor allies, students, and supporters.
What: National Day of Action calling on Congress to protect TPS holders, vote YES on S. 4815, and support permanent status for immigrant families.
